Sexy and trendy, Hot Tuna was formerly a restaurant, lounge and bar located on Washington Avenue in South Beach and was known for its provocative staff that also doubled as the venue’s entertainment.
Suspended, red-toned light fixtures and crimson-colored furnishings gave the location a sensual, nighttime vibe. Faux alligator-skin barstools lent a rock n’roll edge to the slick bar, and an array of large video screens allowed proper viewing of the venue’s nightly in-house live performances.
The ambiance of Grass invokes dinner in paradise with cushy white banquettes, plush sofas, and a full bar illuminated by a wall of apothecary jars brimming with colorful flora. A carpet of thick grass borders the dining room; bonsai plants, bamboo trees and climbing vines cast lovely shadows on the walls. A wall installation of protruding hands lends a surreal quality to the décor.
The Tiki-chic eatery -- surrounded by vines, bamboo, and cozy banquettes -- is all outdoors, so it's weather-permitting, but when it's nice out, it's a stunning departure from the rest of Miami's ultramodern restaurants. An indoor dining area and lounge made this an all-season restaurant -- but most importantly, the food's always fresh. After dinner, check out the latest to sprout up on the expanding Grass -- the King Is Dead -- a strangely named, fabulously hip cocktail lounge.
Miami steakhouse, Las Vacas Gordas Parrillada or “The Fat Cows” in English borrows its name from Biblical times where the well-fed cows of Bashan roamed fat while feeding on prairie rich soil that was blessed with good rain and sun. Las Vacas Gordas Parrillada is a Miami Argentine steakhouse with international flair. It opened as a small two-person operation in 1996 on Miami Beach, serving up typical Argentine dishes from the grill, at fair prices. Owner Luis Gajer and his wife (Rosie) who he credits as being instrumental in the restaurant’s success, passionately expresses the art of the Argentine grill. Through this passion, Las Vacas Gordas has exploded in popularity to become the “go-to” for Argentine cuisine in South Florida.
With a modern ice cream parlor décor, Serendipity 3's setting is colorfully appealing to both adults and youths. Expect the pleasantly unexpected at this casual, quirky dining and drinking destination located in Miami.
